Issac Hayes - R.I.P.

I know its been a loooong time since I have posted anything. Honestly, I haven't been inspired. But this weekend, we lost one of the greatest musicians of our (and our parents) time. I was lucky enough to see him in concert and I wanted to share these photos with you.

2X Tuesdays!

Friends,
Shout out to Shawn Bacot, the latest member of the fam to relocate to Brooklyn ( From the LES )
We all took the time out of our BUSY Saturday nights to help him break in his new diggs, by eating his food, drinking his beverages, spilling shit on the floor and disturbing his neighbors with loud music provided by yours truly alongside AK Boogie ( Homecookin' Radio ) and DJ Profile.

I also want to thank DJ Self who for years has been trying to school me on the art of reading the crowd and playing for them as opposed to spinning for the radio. Don't quite understand, check out the video!

HAPPY BROOKLYN DAY!

Brooklyn keeps on takin' it, worldwide we're known for that!

Ahh, Good old Brooklyn Day. Yes I know that its really Brooklyn/Queens day but honestly, does anyone really care about Queens?? Yes I admit, Queens girls were definitely the shit when we were in high school. And the Q-boro always had the lock on summer BBQ's. But Queens has always been in our shadow and it shall remain that way.

For a Brief history on how Brooklyn Day came to be click here.

Remember when we would have the day off from school, and you would laugh at your friends who lived in Brooklyn but went to school in Manhattan?? I don't think there was a Manhattan day. Now is seems that everyone gets the day off for Brooklyn day. I'm opposed to that, but hey, I get Jewish holidays off so who am I to complain.

Now there are many ways to celebrate Brooklyn. You can attend an event at the Celebrate Brooklyn festival this weekend, you can head to a Brooklyn landmark like Coney Island this weekend, or you can do what I will do, listen to my favorite songs from some of my favorite artists, from Brooklyn, about Brooklyn. Over the next few days I will post some of my favorite Brooklyn songs. ( I will zshare them soon too ) but for now, I will leave you with one of my all time favorites!

FUCK THE POLICE

The cops are out in full force this Memorial Day weekend so if you're driving make sure to obey all street signs.
You don't want to get caught out there like I did this afternoon.

Its a Celebration!!

The Celebration is on!

Its not a surprise birthday party or anything, I mean the guest of honor has occupied the same place for 125 years. With that said you would think that the very least I could is to be on time. --Well I wasn't. I could blame traffic, but 1010 wins warned me. I could have blamed one of my best friends Gin, but he was waiting for me to call him.

To make the story short, I parked the car next to the bridge, and as we were walking towards Empire State Ferry Park I heard the fireworks. "Oh shit, they started without us"

The images you are about see were taken on the on the run! Enjoy
